SCOPE OF ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT INTERN WORK: The Career Advancement intern works with IRC Career Development Specialists to provide career coaching, deliver advanced job readiness training, and connect clients to resources that support their overall career goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Participate in facilitation of advanced job readiness training
·Support enhancement of current curriculum development for workshops covering resume and cover letter writing, networking and job searching, and other workforce topics
·Research local agencies and organizations to expand community partnerships for client referrals and support advocacy efforts
·Conduct ongoing outreach to eligible clients to gauge program interests and services needed
·Attend staff meetings, team meetings, and training related to the position
·Provide general administrative support
Minimum Qualifications:
·Strong interest in working with international clients
·Familiarity with a coaching model and related activities
·Proven ability to work with consideration and respect for cross-cultural differences
·Excellent communication and organization skills
·Ability to work independently
·Computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and internet research
·Enthusiasm for helping people to learn and demonstrated professionalism
·Interns must be able to work at least 15 hours a week for at least three months
·A valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle preferred
This position is unpaid and reports to the Career Development Specialist.
