The College of Business invites applications for a Career Engagement Manager to join their team. As the Career Engagement Manager, you will have three major job functions: set up and execute College of Business (COB) employer fairs and networking events, engage students in the career development process, and facilitate communication and coordinating activities between the COB and employers, students, faculty and colleagues/offices across campus.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with COB faculty and student groups to design and execute employer fairs and networking events.
  • Develop, write, and edit high-quality written content, such as articles, blog posts, social media posts, and website copy, tailored for different platforms and audiences.
  • Advise students on career related issues via individual appointments and/or drop-in services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Career Readiness and Employer Relations to plan academic year programming for the Business Leadership Scholars.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver innovative career programming/workshops.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, while exercising sound judgment and decision making.
  • Ability to work independently, use discretion and be entrusted with confidential information.
  • Ability to think strategically and adapt to an everchanging environment in the employment marketplace.
  • Knowledge of online resources and emerging technologies impacting the job search market a plus.
  • Strong commitment to student success and customer service.

Minimum Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of event planning experience.
  • One-year related work experience in student engagement and employment services or recruiting, human resources, corporate development or professional development and training.
  • Familiarity with corporate networking.

Position Details

Position Title:                    Career Engagement Manager (Employment Services Coordinator I)

Position Number:              051470

Department:                       College of Business

Work Schedule:                 Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year

Salary:                                $21.541/hrCurrent employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department .

Union Affiliation:               FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period:        Six months minimum
