Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organization. We work to reduce and prevent violence, protect civilians and build peace together with communities in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath through the implementation of unarmed civilian protection programming. NP implements programming through the deployment of civilian protection teams to the field and is continuing to scale up to meet the growing needs in the communities we serve. Programming is founded on Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP) and is thematically focused on, interrupting cycles of violence, building trust and peaceful co-existence among divided communities and women inclusion and participation.
OVERVIEW
The Caretaker is responsible for cleaning all NP buildings and rooms as well as preparing a daily meal for the staff. All NP staff are expected to embody UCP guiding principles of:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide support for the organization’s activities by maintaining the organization’s worksite
- House keeping
- Cleaning the kitchen, lounge, and the organization’s office on a daily basis
- Cleaning the organization’s guest house and bedrooms (room tidying up, mopping the floor, cleaning the bathrooms) (at least three times a week)
- Cleaning the bathroom and outside toilet
- Cooking and Reception
- Cooking for the organization’s staff, as requested
- Purchasing the necessary supplies for cooking
- Prepare and bring refreshments for beneficiaries (meetings, trainings, etc.)
Safeguarding:
- Outline the responsibilities related to safeguarding, including adherence to NP’s safeguarding policies and procedures, and reporting any concerns regarding the safety and well-being of personnel, beneficiaries, or community members.
Basic First Aid Knowledge:
- The guard should have basic knowledge of first aid to handle any minor injuries or health issues that may arise during their duties.
