wayss is the largest provider of family violence, homelessness, housing and services in the South East Melbourne area. We exist so people can live a life free from family violence and have access to safe, sustainable, and affordable housing.
We deliver funded services and programs across the Southern Melbourne Area including the local government areas of Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Casey and Cardinia.
Tenancy Plus is delivered by wayss in collaboration with the Department of Housing, Fairness and Families (DFFS) with a focus on supporting people through early intervention and integrated service delivery.
About the role
The Case Manager position provides case management support to people in social housing accommodation, enabling them to maintain their tenancy, live independently and reduce their risk of further homelessness. Tenancy Plus is delivered by wayss in collaboration with the Office of Housing (DFFH) with a focus on supporting people through early intervention and integrated service delivery.
About you
We are looking for a passionate, client-focused individual who can work with a diverse range of clients.
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social or Behavioural Science, Psychology, Community Services or other relevant discipline at diploma level or above.
- Relevant experience working in the community services sector with a sound knowledge of social housing and the social and political context of homelessness.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to provide case management support to people with complex needs and a knowledge of contemporary practice frameworks.
- Excellent client engagement skills and a high level of confidence supporting people of diverse backgrounds.
- A good understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and VCAT
- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team, responding flexibly to shifting demands and priorities.
- Well developed interpersonal and problem solving skills.
This role requires a current Driver’s Licence and valid ‘Employment’ category – Working with Children Check clearance. The candidate will need to have successfully completed wayss pre-employment screening, a police check and identity check.
