Background

CESVI is an Italian NGO working for global solidarity. CESVI operates worldwide to support the most vulnerable populations in promoting human rights and achieving their ambitions, for sustainable development.

CESVI has been working in Iraq since 2018, focusing in the sectors of livelihoods, multi-purpose cash transfer, agriculture, and food security. More recently, CESVI has started a new program in the protection sector, in particular, GBV.

The Case Manager works under the supervision of the GBV Field Officer. She/He is responsible for

 identifying vulnerable girls and women survivors of GBV and providing case management services. The Case Manager will coordinate with the Field Officer and the mobile team in order to identify and refer cases. The Case Manager is responsible for preparing daily reports regarding the case management activities, updates, and database in a timely manner.  S/He is carrying out related tasks foreseen.

 

Brief project profile

The project P.A.S.S.I.(K): Protection And Support for Social Inclusion of GBV survivors in Kurdistan promotes access to quality integrated protection services for women and girls victims of violence, through provision of immediate ad-hoc assistance, legal and psycho-social support. At the same time, provide capacity building for employees of the authorities and front line workers engaged on protection, through session on knowledge, methodology and tools for GBV case management.

The project aims to provide to women and girls victims of violence (and to their children):

– legal assistance, legal representation and counseling;

– pshyco-social support services;

– ad-hoc assistance in shelters;

– emotional Support Groups for shelter personnel;

– capacity building sessions for employees of MoLSA, DCVAW and police authorities.

The target areas of the above-mentioned project are Duhok, Halabja and Sulaymaniyah Governorates, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The Case Manager is responsible for managing protection cases and establishing the action plan for each case, under the supervision of the GBV Field Officer, ensuring that the principles of case management are adhered to and that quality services are provided

 

Objective 1: GBV Case management

  1. Responsible for initiating and providing counselling interventions through case management to survivors of GBV/SGBV with acceptable and positive socio-cultural norms and traditions.
  2. Provide direct support and care for vulnerable women and girls and GBV survivor, including basic information counseling and case management – assessment of survivor needs, providing social support to GBV survivors, developing an action plan, implementing the plan, follow up and case closure processes in line with the S/GBV Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  3. Under Field Officers supervision, liaises with other service providers working within the area of Cesvi’s activities and communities where the project is implemented and facilitate referrals to other service providers (health, shelter, NFIs, legal assistance, financial support) according to the project proposal.
  4. Ensure survivor-centered approach is applied in all activities conducted in work with GBV survivors and other Cesvi’s beneficiaries.
  5. Participate in case conference meetings and provide summary information on critical cases that require case conference.
  6. Input and update beneficiary data into the case tracker system.
  7. Provide weekly case update to supervisor/line manager, including new cases identified, number of referrals, cases closed and follow up.
  8. Provide weekly report on activities including key achievements, challenges, lessons learnt and follow up support needed from supervisor.
  9. Ensure the principles of safety and confidentiality of beneficiaries’ data and data protection mechanism is in accordance with S/GBV SOP.Is responsible for the referral activity, including the selection of the specific cases to be referred, preparation and submission of inter-agency referral forms, daily follow-up of the referred cases, and update of the referral follow-up database;
  10. Performs any other duty assigned as needed.

 

Objective 2: Implementation of Safeguarding policies –Adult at risk/Child Safeguarding/PSEA

  • Ensures compliance with CESVI Safeguarding Policies and full implementation of safeguarding measures within his/her area of responsibility throughout the projects activities;
