If you are a compassionate and skilled Counsellor/Case Manger this role may be for you. 

As a Children’s Family Violence counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing trauma-informed, age-appropriate assistance to families, individuals, and children who have been impacted by family violence.

The successful applicant will receive regular individual supervision and professional development. And will also have the opportunity to work in a collegial environment with a supported approach to risk and debriefing.

Successful applicant will have the following attributes

  • A Degree in Social Worker, Psychology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Understanding of the impacts of family violence on children and their development
  • Ability to work with children and young people and to adapt service delivery to an individual’s needs
  • Understanding of family violence on victim’s and the ability to provide effective safety plans and referrals to specialist services
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • The ability to assess risks and safety plan for individuals and families where family violence is present.
