  • Permanent part time 4 days per week role on Gangulu & Darumbal Land in Gracemere / Mt Morgan until 30 June 2025
  • $40ph – $46ph + Super + Salary Packaging (salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

About the role

As part of our small multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with other community services to ensure families are connected to the supports they need to thrive. Our team has a culture of professional inquiry and all of our programs are child-centred and culturally sensitive.

You will be working alongside each other to support programs focused on the educational, social and emotional development of children (0-8) and their families. Depending on rosters, you may attend and lead our play programs, specialist groups or parenting programs.

Duties

  • Work autonomously while ensuring that our services are effective, culturally appropriate and maximise great outcomes for children and their families.
  • Complete initial assessments of families’ strengths and needs
  • Ensure your case plans empower families to make lasting change, build upon their resilience to respond to life’s challenges and make referrals to appropriate networks.

Skills

As an experienced Social Worker, Psychologist, Early Childhood Teacher or Human Services Professional you will have:

  • A clear understanding of child development and psycho social factors which impact on a person’s ability to parent successfully
  • Experience in delivering both individual family supports and group based supports to families with multiple and complex needs.
  • Experience supporting from an additional needs or disability sector would also be highly regarded
  • A commitment to play based approaches to improve the long-term outcomes for children
  • Experience identifying and addressing child protection concerns using a strengths based approach
  • Capacity to engage with people from all walks of life including the local Aboriginal community
  • High level of professional accountability and integrity and a belief that every parent has potential
  • A relevant degree qualification and current driver’s license
