ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

To effectively provide coordinated case management to clients through a process of engagement, screening, needs assessment and referrals to appropriate services within Interrelate and externally as required.

This role will be focused on supporting Male victims effected by Domestic Family Violence and your experience in case management and skills in managing high conflict will ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality management of the Male DFV Victims Services
  • Provide appropriate case coordination, generally through an initial telephone contact with client based on the relevant referral process;
  • Liaise with the Police for additional contact information or to discuss changes of risk rating, where required.
  • Prepare case file notes and quarterly reports for all victims supported according to the template that will be provided by Victims Services.
  • Represent male victim(s) at “Serious Threat” at Safety Action Meetings (SAMs) as required and follow up with the male victim and discuss any safety action plan developed.
  • Undertake intake assessment with clients to:
    • assess suitability for services
    • assess the person’s / family’s needs
    • prioritise services
    • assess risks (including suicide risk) and develop action plans to mitigate risks
    • assist clients to develop their own goals and case/service plan
    • make appropriate internal and external referrals
    • refer to other services including scheduling people into their initial appointment with Interrelate practitioners/ services
  • Monitor progress and the changing needs of families while they are waiting for and receiving Interrelate services
  • Provide case management and/or brief interventions to a caseload of clients

This is a Fixed term, part time position working 26.5 hours per week from our Caringbah office until 30 September 2024 with the potential to extend.

This role is in line with a SCHADS Award Level 5 position, hourly rate of $51.32 per hour plus superannuation.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related discipline or a Graduate Diploma in counselling, community service or equivalent in addition to holding a bachelor’s degree that is not a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management with families along with the skills in managing high parental conflict whilst upholding the best interests of the child
  • Demonstrated experience in therapeutic work with families and children, along with knowledge of child development, child protection and family violence issues
  • Ability to liaise with the community and build local networks including family law specialist and magistrates along with experience in dealing with the Family Law System
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
