COOPI is officially registered in Kurdish Region of Iraq and in Federal Iraq and has been active in Iraq since end of 2016 when started implementing a series projects in Education sector in Mosul district with funding from AICS and private donors. In 2019, COOPI started with WASH programming and emergency cash interventions in Salah ad Din governorate. In 2022 COOPI bring WASH, education, child protection, and livelihoods programming in Iraq, later during 2024, COOPI will run a protection project including case management, cash assistance, capacity building activities for the society and the local authorities, community profiling and community dialogues in which the activities are mainly focusing on the community level in-order to better link the society with the provided services with a special focus on the most vulnerable returnees and IDPs, especially those living in informal settlements.
Under the direct supervision of COOPI’s Field Coordinator, the Case Manager will be responsible of the following:
- Identify individual cases through regular presence in the community of assignment
- Prepare referral pathway for the area of responsibility
- Conduct initial (rapid) assessments for individual cases and prioritize them according to risk level, including psychosocial assessments of vulnerable cases that take into account environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well- being.
- Develop case plans that respond to the needs addressed in initial and comprehensive assessments and seek support of supervisor when necessary, including conducting home visits to assess the living conditions of the client, when needed, with her/his informed consent;
- Refer beneficiaries to other service providers when needed.
- Regularly follow up to ensure all services and action points listed in the case plan are carried out within agreed time frames;
- Ensure that case plan progress is regularly reviewed;
- Regularly monitor and support survivors through guidance, advice and emotional support, and referrals;
- Work with supervisors and managers to arrange case meetings for complex cases and ensure survivors, especially children, receive multidisciplinary support;
- Manage cases in line with existing SOPs, adhere to standard documentation processes and follow best practice guidance;
- Regularly document cases and using case notes and other agreed upon forms, update databases to ensure a comprehensive record of the case;
- Ensure that data collection and storage respect data protection protocols and confidentiality principles.
- Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help the clients to access needed resources and services and ensure good coordination with relevant service providers;
- Implement and ensure, often in partnership with local stakeholders (NGOs, National Society) and within the collaboration of the Case Officers, proper follow-up of the educational activities and specific community events for the benefit of the children, their families and the community;
- Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided;
- Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases;
- Ensure that data protection protocol is respected;
- Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required by the Protection Expert and/or Project Manager;
- Overall management of the Social Workers and follow-up their assigned duties.
- Perform any other reasonable duty as required by the PM.
- Ensure maintaining high confidentiality of information, up to date documents, including processes and verification.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Qualifications & Preferred skills:
ESSENTIAL
- University degree of Psychology or Social Work and/or equivalent practical field experience, preferably with a humanitarian organization.
Professional and personal requirements:
- at least 2 years of experience in protection related sectors, including at least 1 year of experience as a case manager.
- Extensive field experience and an in–depth knowledge of returnees and internally displaced people’s needs.
- Strong understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context, the humanitarian system and its flexibility, donors and their high demands, security and financial management in humanitarian context.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under high pressure.
- Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with attention to details.
- Computer (excel) and admin/finance skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Readiness to commit and adhere to the values, mission, and vision of COOPI.
- Strong team spirit, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to work and adapt in different environments.
- English language (written and oral).
