The Community Services – Justice Team delivers a range of accredited, non-accredited and case management services. Due to growing demand, we are seeking a highly motivated, outcome focused Youth Justice Case Manager to join the team on a full-time basis, located at our Kent Town Head Office.
Reporting to the Youth Justice Services Team Leader, you will work within SYC’s case management model to provide efficient and effective individual client-centred casework and case management support to young people with criminogenic risk factors. The day-to-day activities will include:
- Providing best practice statutory casework services to young people using high level assessment and intervention skills to deliver integrated and culturally appropriate services in accordance with the Service Delivery Model for Youth Justice programs.
- Conducting holistic assessment and comprehensive referral pathways.
- Developing and facilitating group sessions and training young people in custody and in the community.
- Implementing case plans meetings and participate in service coordination.
- Liaising with relevant services and Government departments.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders to help young people achieve their case plan goals.
- Arranging community networking for young people to encourage positive interactions in a safe and supportive environment.
About You…
As someone who has a passion in helping young people with complex needs your problem solving and proactive work approach will enhance their capacity and support them as they move through different pathways. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Industry experience in providing case management to a complex, high needs client group, with a focus on assisting with vocational choices and transitioning to education, training, and employment pathways.
- Strong engagement skills and ability to interact effectively and sensitively with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to write timely and accurate case notes and reports.
- Engaging presentation skills with the ability to prepare and facilitate group learning programs and activities.
For this role, you will need to:
- Hold a minimum tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to the applicable service agreement or currently working towards same (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Counselling, Youth Work, Youth Justice).
- Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check, First Aid & CPR and National Police Check.
- Be eligible to work in Australia.
- Be prepared to undergo a Psychological Assessment.
- Have possession of a current valid Driver’s License and a willingness to drive.
- Be able to undertake occasional work out of hours work.
