About the Opportunity
Melbourne City Mission’s Intensive Integrated Family Service (IFS) provides Intensive support to vulnerable children, and parents through intensive case management to support the achievement of their goals and work towards safety and wellbeing of all members.
IFS works with families who are experiencing complex issues such as family violence, mental health, problematic substance use, homelessness, intergenerational disadvantage and trauma, poverty and poor parenting role models
About you
We are looking for someone who can:
- Experience in family services, social work, youth work, early childhood services, or a related field.
- Sound understanding of child development and the factors that can impede a child’s healthy development.
- Extensive experience in providing risk and needs assessment, intervention, and risk management.
- Significant experience in working with and providing active and assertive engagement in casework with families, particularly for those with complex needs and those who are reluctant to accept services.

Essential
- A bachelor qualification in social work, youth work, psychology, early childhood development or related tertiary qualification.
Screening Criteria
- National Police check
- Working with Children check and NDIS Worker Screening check or ability to obtain
- Valid Victorian Drivers license
- Right to Work in Australia
