About the Role
The Brisbane Relief Hub offers a range of services to support those who may be experiencing financial stress, lacking basic necessities, homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. You will provide case work, group work and other support services to clients presenting for emergency relief assistance while also assisting the manager, staff and volunteers to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the service. You will also implement proactive interventions that address some of the underlying cases which clients may face, including assistance with budgeting and building financial literacy skills.
This position is located at the Brisbane Relief Hub in Fortitude Valley. We have 2 positions available, one for permanent part time (30 hours per fortnight) and one casual (working up to 30 hours per fortnight).
This is a diverse role that will ensure no two days are the same. Some of the responsibilities you will have include:
- Provide a holistic and wrap around case management service to clients referred for case work
- Assess clients presenting to the service and provide them with appropriate assistance in accordance with agency policies and guidelines and in a compassionate and dignified manner
- Support and assist other staff and volunteers in the execution of their duties, including undertaking relief work as required
- Undertake the development, coordination, leadership and facilitation of group work programs
- Assist the Manager with day-to-day program operation as required
- Support the Community Meal service with other members of the leadership team
