The Opportunity:

The post holder will be technically working with community incentive workers on the ground in collaboration with the, government stakeholders such Bureau of Women Affairs Office, Bureau of Social Affairs and Rehabilitation (BoSAR), Health, Education, Justice, Police, CBOs, FBOs, LNGOs, INGOs, UNHCR, UNICEF etc. in his area of presence. S/he will be working as a team member with other relevant sectors during assessment, design of programs, planning and activity implementation, as well as reporting, monitoring and evaluation phases. The post holder will have a direct reporting relationship with the child protection officer. In addition, s/he will get direction from the coordinator regarding his role and responsibilities.

The Individual:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Early Child hood care and Education, Social work, Law, Political Science & International Relations, community development or other related field of social science studies.
  • Workshop experience (at least 1year) in the child protection sector and technical understanding community work and CP data management, polices, conventions etc.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable children, including children outside of parental care.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating of training and capacity building on child protection, counselling and/or case management technical areas with a variety of audiences.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

· Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI

policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC).

· Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.

· Ensure that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
