JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the Cash and Livelihoods Technical Assistant position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of the Livelihood project activities including conducting community-based activities and relevant assessments such as market assessments, baselines, end line and post-distribution and beneficiary business monitoring. The Cash and Livelihoods Technical Assistant will directly facilitate the implementation of community mobilization and local stakeholder collaboration activities.

What you will do

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist a range of support with the implementation of the CC portfolio according to plan of action
  • Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated
  • Responsible for organising and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team
  • Use initiative in day to day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise

 

Specifically, you will:

  • Assist in registration of beneficiaries; verification of needs based on home visits, post-distribution monitoring; and/or distribution of assistance in line with NRC policies and donor requirements.
  • Ensure that the most vulnerable beneficiaries are selected in line with the approved beneficiary selection criteria.
  • Verify and update the beneficiary registers and report back to the project officer.
  • Facilitate the distribution of in-kind assistance/supplies/cash to selected beneficiaries and monitor utilisation of the items distributed.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor progress, identify challenges, and provide technical support to beneficiaries.
  • Facilitate business transactions between suppliers and buyers and ensure quality and order management.
  • Facilitate training, capacity-building workshops, and networking events.
  • Facilitate in the establishment and strengthening of agri-food and agriculture value chains and promote innovative market linkages for agricultural products.
  • Follow up on all beneficiaries regularly to ensure that they implement activities in line with schedules provided.
  • Actively promote community participation in project activities with particular attention to gender representation in all activities.
  • Prepare and submit reports and other updates as required.

 Professional competencies

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience from working as a Logistician and/or ICT in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • BA Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and or computer science.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with suppliers.
  • Good knowledge of Computer and Excel functions
  • Experience in delivering training.
  • Fluent in Arabic language and Good English.
