This is a transformational role working with the business to understand requirements and create a robust and forward thinking category management structure to effectively deliver engineering excellence and a better world at work for our customers, colleagues and supply chain; and for the communities in which we work.
Create, own and manage category plans through strategic planning that demonstrate and support a robust supply chain delivery, that considers performance measurement, risk management and operational excellence, whilst delivering value for money.
- Create, manage and implement category strategies, which supports the business and customer requirements
- Analyse spend data and market / supply chain intelligence
- ead cross-functional project teams with key stakeholders for the tender process of assigned categories
- Negotiate and deliver cost savings through strategic tools and negotiation skills
- Identify, select, develop and manage new supply chain to support future business through a rigorous evaluation process, ongoing performance measurement, contract review and benchmarking
- Provide clear communication lines to ensure that the business is made aware of all strategic initiatives
- Integration of ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement requirements
- Ensure that PSAs are 100% up to date.
- Create and implement a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Plan.Develop and deliver a relationship matrix model and align with our KAM principles.
- Personally manage key supplier relationships, ensuring stakeholder engagement.Unlocking value beyond cost within these relationships – reciprocal arrangements.Be mindful of ethical objectives as well as providing the business with access to supplier innovation.
- Provide a culture of continuous improvement delivering improvements that support the organisation’s requirements, ensuring that business stakeholders are seen as a customer and engage to gain feedback to set improvement objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement programmes within the supply chain to give best value to our clients
- Work in collaboration with the Head of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Team Management to positively promote the work of the team
- Any other task reasonably requested by the Head of Strategic Sourcing from time to time.
Person Specification
- Previous Category Management experience within FM services preferable
- Knowledge and experience of Category Strategies, Strategic Sourcing and implementation of framework agreements
- Sustainable Procurement knowledge
- A passion for procurement and supply chain
- A desire to think ‘outside of the box’. Not be afraid to challenge with an ability and focus to drive improvement with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Highest levels of integrity at all times.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement
- Strong presentation, and influencing skills
- Experience of driving value and delivering cost saving targets
- Ability to lead and work in cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills
- MCIPS preferred
- Valid full driving licence
