The catering manager position does not require a formal catering qualification.  If you have experience cooking for large numbers of people and have led a team we want to hear from you.

KEY ROLES

• To manage the kitchen team in preparing and serving tasty food at our residential Adventure Centre for guests and staff.
• To help us review how we source, prepare and serve food.
• Be responsible for the leadership and management of our busy kitchen.
• Create inspiring and appropriate meals for our guests and staff.
• Ensure that all health and safety procedures are carried out.
• To ensure that special dietary needs are met.
• To ensure careful portion control whilst meeting the needs of our guest and staff members. Also reducing our food waste.
• To lead, train, motivate and mentor our Cook and Assistant Cooks and Gap Year Student.
• To plan weekly menus.
• To manage the entire catering budget ensuring an efficient and cost-effective provision.
• To ensure high standards of friendly service and customer care within the team.
• To carry out regular team reviews leading to team development and growth.
• To be hands-on and available during several meal services a week, ensuring quality and timeliness of the service.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• It is a genuine occupational requirement that the holder of this post is a practising Christian whose lifestyle is consistent with the values and doctrine of the Christian faith
• As part of our commitment to safeguarding, the successful applicant will be required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme and the appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure
