The CCAC Secretariat, UNEP, is seeking a junior professional to support the financial management of the CCAC Trust Fund and grants. This role will specifically include administrative processes related to grant management, finance and budget management and financial reporting, including through the UN Secretariat’s SAP system Umoja.

Duties and Responsibilities
The UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society. The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone. More information about the Global Methane Pledge: www.globalmethanepledge.org The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat at the Industry & Economy Division in Paris, France. Responsibilities: 1. Assists in the budget and finance aspects of the CCAC Secretariat including: 2. Monitors status of expenditures and allotments through the UN SAP system Umoja and compares with approved budget, records variations, updates budget tables, prepare adjustments as necessary 3. Acts as a liaison with administration for invoicing and programming the incoming contributions 4. Reviews budget revisions; cost assignment for approved activities, verifies availability of funds 5. Assists in the preparation of budget performance submissions and prepares statistical tables and standard financial reports. 6. Prepares customizes financial reports from Umoja, assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. 7. Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or governance papers. 8. Audits the contractors’ invoices against the goods and services provided by the contractor and approved by the UN
Qualifications/special skills
– An Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. – A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, ideally in project management or related business or administrative functions. – Good understanding and passion for addressing environmental issues such as climate change and air pollution (including in a developing country context) is required. – Proven planning, project management and organisational skills is required. – Experience using financial systems/finance modules of enterprise resource planning (ERP) such as Oracle, SAP, Agresso, or PeopleSoft or similar software is highly desirable. – Strong skills in technology/software solutions, using Microsoft Office 365 tools (especially SharePoint) is an asset. – Advanced Excel skills, including basic coding, is an asset.
