Permanent – Full Time – 36.25 HoursRBH currently have an exciting opportunity for a CDM and Fire Risk Surveyor – someone to provide expert specialist advice and leadership to promote a positive health and safety culture and enable us to comply with the requirements of all statutory health and safety legislation.Key ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for someone to:
- To prepare tender packages for the various streams of works relating to the Fire Risk Action plan.
- Undertake Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in line with the societies FRA Programme to a range of building types.
- To carry out surveys and inspections that may cover any part of the building fabric to a diverse range of stock, necessitating use of ladders and working at height on scaffolding from time to time.
- Act as ‘competent person’ in regards fire safety.
- Effectively adhere and follow RBH’s vision, mission, Corporate Strategy and the Digital Transformation Strategy as duties are carried out.
- Actively manage and report on performance against KPI’s for the relevant area.
- Develop and maintain effective internal relationships with all colleagues.
- Represent RBH externally ensuring effective business relationships are developed and to promote the organisation’s profile.
- Notify the CDM and Fire Risk Manager and/or relevant Head of Service, EMT about any operational risks that could impact RBH’s continued stability and viability.
What we are looking for?
- A Construction Related Degree plus 3 years Project Management experience or other recognised higher education qualification in Building and or Construction related subject with 5 years project management experience.
- A IFE/FPA accredited FRA qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- You will hold or working towards IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
- Recognised project management qualification.
- Knowledge and understanding of construction sector, CDM Regs 2015, Asbestos, Housing regulator, Fire Risk and the Management with regards to communal spaces and compartmentisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of construction sector, CDM Regs 2015, BS 9999, PAS 79 & 9980, various fire safety guidance (NFCC, ADB, RR(FS)O 2005, FS(Eng) Regs, Fire Safety Act Asbestos, Housing regulator, Fire Risk and the Management with regards to communal spaces and compartmentation.
- Knowledge and understanding of fire safety systems (including but not limited to) fire alarms, emergency lighting, Automatic Opening Vents and sprinkler systems.
- Positively embraces change, and is adaptable to the ever changing social housing sector.
- Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to produce documents to a professional and accurate standard
- Effective mediation and negotiation skills to deliver positive outcomes
