The University invites individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply for faculty positions in this field. The primary language of instruction and administration at CityUHK (Dongguan) is English.

Centered on material design, fabrication, and Application, this field engages in fundamental research and frontier applications of new materials, covering the complete chain from microscopic nanostructures to macroscopic performance optimization.

Discipline, including, but not limited to: Materials Science and Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Nanotechnology.

Major Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

• Deliver exceptional education, both independently and collaboratively, for undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
• Achieve international recognition and demonstrate leadership in their respective fields through outstanding research;
• Contribute to administrative tasks, ensuring efficient operations and supporting the advancement of the University’s mission (applicable to senior faculty);
• Proactively secure external funding for research projects, promoting technological innovation;
• Provide exemplary supervision for student projects, internships, and theses, guiding them towards academic excellence.

Qualifications
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in the relevant field. A strong track record in independent research, teaching, student supervision, and service is highly desirable. Candidates who have recently obtained their PhD with exceptional achievements may also be considered.

• Possess extensive experience in teaching, student supervision, and securing research project funding;
• Demonstrate the ability to establish a distinguished research programme aligned with the University’s strategic research areas;
