Uniting is seeking a compassionate Ordained Minister to fill a full-time Chaplaincy role. This unique position will be based at Wellington Correctional Centre in Dubbo, Western NSW region.
This position is a Chaplain function within the Uniting Mission Directorate as part of the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Practice team. It is responsible for the delivery of a high level of quality spiritual and pastoral support to the residents / inmates / patients, families and staff of the relevant institution.

Role Overview
The Chaplain may help employees, volunteers, inmates and visitors to access other faith based pastoral care or welfare services in the wider community should that be requested. Chaplains also provide representation at baptisms, weddings, funerals and other ceremonies or religious services where a chaplain may be required or requested.
You must have experience in ministry, preferably, in a large and complex organisation, demonstrating a passion for pastoral care. Provide pastoral counselling regarding personal and moral problems relating to work, marriage, relationships and family with the allocated region(s) or upon request.
Working hours and Terms of Placement are in accordance with the Guidelines of the Uniting Church, Synod of NSW and the ACT and calls for the Chaplain to adhere to the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church, and the Mission Vision and Values of Uniting.
Essential Criteria
Applicants for this is role must be Ordained Ministers authorised to serve as a Uniting Church minister or eligible to be authorised as such, or eligible to be commissioned as a Lay Pastor within the Uniting Church.
