About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Landscaping Chargehand 3 (Countryside
Construction). This role is based in Bodmin and offers the freedom to make decisions using
initiative, whilst supported with clear guidance.
In this role, you will be supervising and delivering practical landscaping operations within
the business remit of Cormac, including Cornwall Council owned properties, and property managed
by Cormac.
Some of the primary responsibilities are:
- The day-to-day supervision of landscape operatives, including allocation of tasks and
duties, and providing support and assistance to skilled and specialist skilled operatives - To undertake mentoring and training of staff within the landscape team
- To liaise with clientele, foster relationships and aid in the estimating of new works and
projects - To be able to provide cover for both the Landscape works manager and/or the Landscapes
Senior Chargehand in their absence
About you:
We are looking for you to have:
- A minimum level 3 qualification (or be working towards)
- The ability to spot hazards, undertake risk assessments, and exhibit a working knowledge of
health and safety - Experience and knowledge of countryside construction and landscaping operations
- Proven track record of supervising others and the ability to demonstrate duties to others
- Have experience in Countryside Stewardship techniques, including knowledge of Rights of
Way, Conservation and traditional management practices ie, woodland management, hedge laying
and stone walling
