Duties and Responsibilities
Finalize the Chemicals and Waste Issues of Concern: A Summary Analysis of Stakeholders’ Views on Priorities for Further Work and Potential Further International Action and its Annexes. The Consultant will edit the final draft “Chemicals and Waste Issues of Concern: A Summary Analysis of Stakeholders’ Views on Priorities for Further Work and Potential Further International Action”, including its Executive summary and its Annexes as per the timeline indicated above, thereby ensuring among others that: • The language is user-friendly and suitable for policymakers, member states and other stakeholders. • The language adheres to high standards (accurate usage of vocabulary, no misspellings, accurate punctuation, no grammatical errors etc.). • The language is consistent throughout the Summary Analysis and Annexes. • Cross-references are in place where appropriate. • Terms, units etc. are used consistently and accurately. • No obvious factual errors between reports are made. • The UNEP style guide is adhered to.
Qualifications/special skills
A first-level university degree. Strong proofreading and editing skills with a focus on spelling, grammar, factual accuracy, language consistency and implementation of corporate style guides. Experience in the editing of articles/reports/publications. Experience working in/with UN agencies, in particular development of publications.
Languages
For the position advertised, fluency in English is required, with excellent English writing and copy-editing skills. Excellent English language skills.
