greenspace scotland

tendersglobal.net

Do you have a vision for how greenspace can improve Scotland’s urban places and people’s
quality of life? Are you an experienced senior leader who can challenge yourself and others to
achieve more?

If the answer is ‘yes’, then you might be our next Chief Executive and we would love to
hear from you.

With the planned retirement of our current Chief Executive, after 21 years with greenspace
scotland, we are looking to recruit a new Chief Executive to lead us on the next stage of our
journey. The board is taking this opportunity to expand our senior management team and so we
are also recruiting for a new post of Operations & Finance Manager.

About the role

Our new Chief Executive will lead an organisation that is deeply respected throughout Scotland
and the UK for its collaborative and open approach, its pioneering and enabling work, and
impressive track record of tangible achievements.

greenspace scotland provides a national lead for action on parks and greenspaces. We believe
greenspaces are at the heart of healthy, happy, thriving and sustainable communities and
places. We need our greenspaces more than ever as we navigate our way through these challenging
and turbulent times: the climate and nature emergencies, pandemic recovery, cost of living
crisis and widening inequalities.

As Chief Executive, working with the Board, you will be responsible for leading the strategic,
governance, operational and financial affairs for the charity. You will champion our vision for
everyone living and working in urban Scotland to have easy access to quality greenspace.
Working with our professional staff team, you will lead the effective and efficient delivery of
our programmes, identifying new partnership and business development opportunities, and
ensuring the continued financial sustainability of the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference for people and places across
Scotland.
