Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) has 40 years of experience in supporting older Victorians to live safely at home for as long as possible. AMCS is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee that provides services to people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, particularly older Victorians.

With a strong focus on placing its clients at the centre of all that it does, AMCS enjoys a sound reputation as a sector leader for its ability to offer clients care and support for their respective lifestyle needs. With the retirement of its long serving CEO, AMCS is seeking a new Chief executive Officer to build upon an outstanding legacy.

In recent times, in recognition of the need to respond continually to changing client and environmental demands and opportunities, AMCS has embarked on a period of steady and measured growth, innovation and improvement. This program has aimed to ensure that they are best positioned to provide appropriate services to its clients and prepare for any future strategic growth opportunities.

This is an exciting challenge for the right person. The role at AMCS offers a significant opportunity to meet the challenges of enabling people from a diversity of migrant backgrounds to live a quality lifestyle through the provision of in-home and community-based services and programs.

With a strong Board and committed organisational culture, the CEO will be instrumental in the development of a new Strategic Plan upon commencement to build on the successful legacy of the outgoing Chief Executive Officer. With exciting plans to expand upon current services, a strong balance sheet and opportunities for growth and sector leadership, positions such as these do not come around often.

To be considered you will be an experienced and ethical community/human services leader, qualified with a relevant degree and aligned to the Mission and Values of this organisation. You’ll have a successful track record in being able to build genuine and effective relationships with all people and a multitude of stakeholders, including Government, sector partners, staff, and diverse communities and service users.

As a leader, you’ll be visionary, fair and inclusive, kind and compassionate, with a reputation for successfully leading organisations that deliver complex services and programs to people and communities needing support. You’ll be a credible and compelling communicator, able to influence and inspire a wide range of audiences with conviction. Naturally, you’ll be strategically minded but equally adept at ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness with a business acumen balanced against ensuring a supportive and enabling workplace culture. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the aged care legislation or similarly highly regulated community sectors; candidates with a strong understanding of working within culturally diverse organisations and community groups will be highly regarded
