Point Blue Conservation Science seeks a dynamic, experienced leader who embodies its visionary commitment to conservation and science, connects widely as a mission ambassador, and drives daily excellence in strategy, funding, and programs.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides strategic and operational leadership for Point Blue, a conservation science organization with a 60-year history of impact on behalf of vital ecosystems, wildlife, and communities. Working with staff and board, the CEO develops, guides, secures, and communicates Point Blue’s mission, activities, and results. The CEO is the face and voice of the organization—a trusted and visionary leader working with diverse constituents, in varied program locations, in service of our shared planet. The CEO supervises the Executive Team and Group Directors and develops, coordinates, and reports to the Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate is a master organizational leader with experience in conservation science or a related field, a history of values-based leadership, strong fundraising and relationship skills, and the ability to navigate complex organizational, political, and financial environments.

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt, benefit-eligible position. The CEO’s anticipated annual salary range is $210,000–$240,000, commensurate with knowledge, abilities, and experience.

Point Blue’s comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage; employer-paid percentage based on plan
  • 401k retirement plan with employer contribution ( dependent on available funding)
  • Four weeks annually accrued paid time off, plus holidays, personal days, and sick time

Location

The CEO works from the Point Blue offices in Petaluma, California. This position is not remote work eligible.
