The Organisation

While tracing its roots back to modest beginnings in 1981, Goulburn Options (GO) has become a visible and impactful service provider for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers. GO experienced significant seasons of growth and is deeply entrenched in the fabric of Seymour and surrounds.

Many of the staff and volunteers have served long term and have continued to evolve a culture which is caring, personalised, and empowers each participant to live their “Biggest Lives Possible”. While there are ongoing changes in the broader sector, there has been consolidation of operations and financial position under the incumbent CEO.

With excellent access to train stations and freeways, Seymour is a very accessible location from multiple locations, including the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

The Role

Your brief is to lead this brilliant organisation through its next Strategic plan. Continuing to strengthen the GO brand, governance, and leadership skills. It will be important to build trusted relationships with the existing team, to endure any upcoming changes and ensure that the depth of care and individual service remains. The organisation will continue to strengthen through formal and informal learning within the leadership team.

Your prowess in understanding the operations of a service delivery organisation will allow you to ensure effectiveness of all business areas. The current position of financial strength and the exceptional standing of GO, allow a new leader to explore opportunities for growth into other locations.

You will be a visible face of the organisation among the communities that GO is a part of and you will build existing and new stakeholder relationships.

The Person

You will likely be drawn to this opportunity because of your successful history in a lead role in a service delivery organisation, within health, disability or similar. You will have a natural alignment with the Vision and Values of Goulburn Options and be able to demonstrate your commitment to service delivery that recognises and supports the individual capabilities and diversity of people with disability and their rights to equity and safety at Goulburn Options.

You have a strong attribute to understand and execute risk management, governance, and evaluation. You will strive for continuous improvement through partnering with the board and leadership team.

As a good people leader, you will promote a strong workplace culture, motivate staff, and lead organisational change.
You will be empowering and resourcing your functional leaders to achieve a high-performance culture and sharing your knowledge in creation and execution of strategic plans.

With a view to understand sector trends, and overall organisational sustainability, you will bring insights into the present and future states of the sector.
