The Role – CEO
As the CEO, you will be managing the organisation’s human, financial and physical resources to optimize educational, recreational, and community development and engagement opportunities. This involves overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure effective functioning and compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines, as well as fostering partnerships and strategic alliances with community organisations.
Working in conjunction with the existing leadership team and a supportive Board, you will be responsible for building on the organisation’s current governance and strategic direction and ensuring ongoing alignment with YCC’s purpose and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and ensure effective program delivery, compliance, and contract outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with community stakeholders and oversee grant and tender writing.
- Manage the organisation’s budget and resources with transparency and accountability.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement among staff and volunteers.
- Advocate for community well-being, implement the Strategic Plan, and drive initiatives with the Executive Team and CoM.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, business administration, education, Community Development or a related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a community-based organisation, with a demonstrated ability to drive strategic planning and organisational development.
- Proven experience and understanding of non-profit governance, and financial management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the capacity to translate vision into actionable goals and initiatives.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and a passion for serving underrepresented communities.
- Knowledge of local social services, community development, education and public policy issues is an asset.
