We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief of Party for theanticipatedUSAID/Morocco-fundedClimate Program. This positionwill be based in Morocco with an expected program office in Rabat and is contingent upon award.
Project Description
The proposed USAID/Morocco Climate Program will support efforts to mitigatethe impact of climate change in Morocco, promote climate change adaptation bestpractices, and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate changethrough education, economic growth, and governance programming. The Program will also seek to support Morocco in achieving its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs),including adaptationinitiatives. Through its implementation, the Program will support the definition of priority actions that will be themost impactful and relevant in catalyzing climate action, building resilience, particularlyfor marginalized groups, and reducing emissions.AsUSAID/Morocco aims to advance locally led development and climate action, the Program will explore holistic strategies to strengthen locallyled programming that drives scalable climate action and inclusive systemic change.
Position Description
The Chief of Party (COP)is responsible for providing overall leadership, management oversight, and technical direction for the program, ensuring an integrated vision across components and stakeholders, with a focus on achieving the results defined in the award. The COP’s responsibilities include developing and managing the annual work plan and budgeting process; creating/maintaining an effective program management team; overseeing an effective monitoring and evaluation system; and coordinating activities and sub-grantees to achieve results. This individual will be the primary liaison with the funder (USAID), key stakeholders, and other implementing partners. The COP will be expected to identify issues and risks related to programimplementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate adjustments. They will supervise activity implementation and ensure activities meet stated goals and reporting requirements. The COP will have demonstrated ability to work in complex environments, across different cultures, and manage diverse teams to deliver impact within agreed timelines.The position will be based in Morocco. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the program and the selection of the final applicant is subject to USAID approval.
