Chemonics is seeking prospective Chief of Party candidates for the anticipated 5-year, USAID/Ukraine Flagship Mental Health Activity. This is not an open position, once a proposal is awarded and a position becomes available, all applicants must apply to be considered for the role. The position will be based in Kyiv, Ukraine or will require travel to Kyiv. This activity is valued at $50-$99.99 million and aims to support the Government of Ukraine in accelerating development of a modern, evidence-informed, integrated mental health system at all levels. This system will foster enhanced accountability, efficiency, and transparency to effectively address the evolving mental health challenges faced by Ukrainians amidst Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, and during its recovery. This activity is currently on the USAID business forecast with an anticipated solicitation release date of July 15, 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall project leadership, management, and technical direction to ensure all activities and partners achieve the initiative’s targeted results.
  • Ensure that solid relationships are built and maintained between and among Chemonics project staff, USAID, and key local stakeholders and partners.
  • Responsible for overall and direct implementation of activities and ensure all project technical assistance is high quality, technically sound and appropriate.
  • Supervise senior management team, staff, consultants, and partner organizations to achieve expected results.
  • Other tasks as required to achieve the activity’s objectives and expected results.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public health, behavioral health, mental health, psychology, social work, international development, or directly related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working on donor-funded projects; experience with USAID preferred.
  • Strong ability and desire to work collaboratively with the government of Ukraine, international donors, and local partners.
  • Strong leadership ability and experience managing staff.
  • Experience working in or supporting programs in Ukraine preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill in English and Ukrainian.
