Job description

Lifeline Tasmania is a highly-respected not-for-profit organisation with a long history of providing suicide prevention, intervention and postvention services and resilience-building programs throughout Tasmania. Proudly celebrating 50 years of serving the Tasmanian community, the organisation’s dedicated team of volunteers and staff remain steadfastly committed to its vision; a resilient Tasmania free of suicide. To find out more about the organisation and its diverse range of services, please visit www.lifelinetasmania.org.au.

In a newly created Hobart based role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will work as part of the Senior Management Team to drive Lifeline Tasmania’s strategic direction and vision. Having responsibility for all operational matters of the organisation, the COO will oversee the operations of the Corporate Services and Service Delivery divisions, including the “for profit” divisions (Retail and Training and Support). Other key responsibilities include driving and leading all internal strategies along with implementing systems and finding operational efficiencies.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who demonstrates a breadth of operational experience at a senior level. An ability to lead, motivate and develop teams while driving operational efficiencies throughout organisations is also required. Highly developed practical operational and process-oriented skills are a foundation of the role, while change management, sound financial and commercial acumen, and the ability to work directly and efficiently with other senior discipline leaders is essential.

This broad operational leadership role is an exciting chance for a dynamic and innovative leader to drive continuous improvement and innovation within one of Tasmania’s best not-for-profit organisations.
