The Assessment and Service Connect (ASC) initiative is a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary approach developed as a new way of working between Child Safety Services, other government agencies and the non-government sector. About the Position
We are looking to welcome a Child and Family Consultant to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to provide holistic assessment and support planning.
- Full time opportunity.
- This role is government funded until 30 June 2024, with possibility for extension.
- Level 5 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $93,860– $98,112 plus super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Child Safety in engaging with the child and their family.
- Undertaking a targeted assessment of a family’s strengths and needs.
- Assisting the child and their family to access the support and services they need.

About You
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
- Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
- At least five (5) years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or more than five years’ experience working in similar roles.
- Expertise in family functioning, parenting and attachment, including assessing family relationships and parenting capacity and functioning.
Other Requirements
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
