About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Child and Family Consultant provide consultation, assessments, advice and input that will provide better outcomes for children and families. Opportunity to 30 June 2024 with possible extension.

This position is classified Level 5 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $93,860 – $98,112 plus super. We offer excellent salary packaging options which can significantly increase your take home pay.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide expert opinion, guidance, advice, assessments and consultation on referrals, processes, and service connections.
  • Respond as part of the ASC team on referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to provide holistic assessment and support planning.
  • Contribute specialist skills through information gathering and analysis, collaborative assessment, and collaborative consultation on planned responses, triage, action and outcomes.

About You

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (Allied Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services).
  • Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • At least five (5) years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or more than five years’ experience working in similar roles.
  • Demonstrated specialist skills in at least one of the following areas: drug and alcohol, mental health, family and domestic violence, child development.
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child development and family functioning.
  • Expertise in family functioning, parenting and attachment, including assessing family relationships and parenting capacity and functioning.

Other Requirements
