The Child Health Outreach Program uses a case management model of care to coordinate the care of Aboriginal children aged between 0-15 with chronic health conditions, and whose families’ social circumstances prevent them from meeting the health care needs of their child. Within Congress, the Child Health Outreach Program is part of the Care Coordination team within Clinical Services section.
Congress is an Aboriginal community controlled health service, providing comprehensive primary health care services to Aboriginal Australian persons in Alice Springs and various remote communities in Central Australia.

- Base Salary: $103,759 – $110,838 (p.a.)
- Total Effective Package: $126,455 – $134,420 (p.a.)*
- Full-Time, Continuous Contract

About the role
The Child Health Outreach Program Nurse/AHP is integral to the Child Health Outreach Program working collaboratively with children 0 – 15 years and their families to facilitate and support children with complex chronic healthcare needs through coordination of care to optimise health outcomes. The position has a strong clinical focus on outreach work including liaison with internal and external stakeholders involved in the child and family’s care.
About you
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- Demonstrated understanding of primary health care and developing clinical knowledge of chronic disease management and/or child health;
- Working knowledge of Child Health and an understanding of current practices, theories and values.
- Understanding and commitment to Aboriginal health, and the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control and knowledge of current issues affecting the lives of Aboriginal People.
