How can you make a difference?

Belize is facing a double burden of malnutrition—where undernutrition and obesity are rising side by side, even among children. As a Consultant on Strategic Interventions for Healthy and Sustainable Diets, you will help transform the food environment for school-aged children across the country.

In this role, you will:

  • Map key stakeholders shaping Belize’s food and nutrition landscape;
  • Identify and assess current child nutrition programmes and enabling systems;
  • Lead the development of a national multi-sectoral Theory of Change to promote healthy diets;
  • Define UNICEF’s strategic role in this space and identify high-impact opportunities for advocacy, partnership, and resource mobilization.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Nutrition, Public Health, Food Science, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in international development cooperation and programme implementation;
  • Demonstrated expertise in sustainable diet interventions, preferably with innovative or community-based approaches;
  • Proven experience in multi-sectoral coordination, inter-agency cooperation, and joint programming;
  • Strong background in strategic partnership development and resource mobilization;
  • Experience translating strategic frameworks into practical implementation plans;
  • Solid understanding of the nutrition and health funding landscape, including proposal development;
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills;
  • Language Requirements: fluency in English;
  • Desirable: Fluency in Spanish.
