OVERVIEW/SUMMARY
: In
response to the humanitarian situation in Libya, the IRC launched an emergency
program which aims to provide life-saving medical care and integrated
protection services. Expanding its protection interventions, with a focus on
community-based protection, rule of law, child protection, Women Empowerment
including GBV response and prevention, and MHPSS across all its project
locations. The Child Protection Assistant will conduct structured and
non-structured psychosocial support activities for children at the selected
locations within the affected areas and support community outreach activities
for parents and caregivers, plan and organize awareness sessions on child
protection, participate in data collection, surveys, prepare reports and
perform other child protection related duties as may be guided from time to
time.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, organize and conduct PSS and PFA sessions, recreational and destressing activities for children at Alassa and the selected locations within the affected areas to promote the well-being of children.
Plan, organize and conduct information dissemination sessions at Alassa and the selected locations within the affected areas in collaboration with other stakeholder presents in the field when needed.
Directly facilitate sessions focused on building awareness of different themes related to their wellbeing, safety planning, and deliver key messages on child protection.
Identify children at risk through regular contacts and visits in the community and areas of intervention and provide the individual and group MHPSS.
Provide group MHPSS and individual case management for children in and around the project location in accordance with all case management steps.
Ensure the correct documentation and compilation of Case Management forms in accordance with all case management steps and related tools and procedures.
Involve and follow-up community outreach volunteers in organizing and conducting awareness sessions on Child Protection related issues in collaboration with CP officer.
Conduct surveys, CP needs assessments, safety audits, and service mapping exercises.
Ensure all logistic aspects for the conduct of the awareness and PSS sessions is in place.
Share with the CP officer on a weekly basis all the needed items for the work.
Supporting in ensuring accurate data is collected, entered into the database and detailed analysis provided using the right tools and in consultation with the MEAL team and the supervisor.
Support in collecting data on relevant activities and draft reports in consultation with the CP officer and MEAL team.
Participate in activity planning meetings and share activity reports with the CP officer on a weekly basis or as may be required.
Support the logistical arrangements of the relevant activities at the selected locations within the affected areas and in the community.
Contribute to the procurement of materials used for the implementation of relevant activities.
Perform any other duties as may be guided by the CP officer.

Working Environment:  This position
will be based in Tripoli and includes multiple
trips during the week to the Al-Assa area.
Child Protection Assistants are expected to be present at the
field implementation location at least three days a week.
