Child Protection (CP) Case Manager

The Child Protection (CP) Case Manager will provide tailored case management services to vulnerable children and their families facing protection concerns. The role emphasizes the best interests of the child, offering comprehensive support through assessments, individualized care plans, and referrals to essential services such as education, healthcare, and psychosocial support. The CP Case Manager will also support prevention and awareness activities, including the Life Skills and Resilience Program and Girls Shine initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Case Management and Support:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify children’s protection needs.
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans prioritizing the best interests of the child.
    • Maintain regular follow-ups and ensure effective case closure within 2-3 months.
    • Facilitate referrals to appropriate services, including psychosocial support, education, and healthcare.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  2. Capacity Building and Collaboration:
    • Participate in capacity-building initiatives and training sessions to enhance technical skills.
    • Collaborate with the Case Reviewer and other team members to align practices with child protection protocols.
  3. Support for Prevention Activities:
    • Assist in implementing the Life Skills and Resilience Program, fostering personal growth, self-confidence, and resilience among children and adolescents aged 6-15 through interactive activities.
    • Contribute to the Girls Shine Program, empowering adolescent girls and young women aged 15-24 to enhance self-awareness, leadership, and decision-making skills.
    • Provide guidance and feedback to facilitators delivering prevention programs.
  4. Data Management:
    • Ensure secure collection, storage, and sharing of case data using RAIS/Primero systems.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records for each case in compliance with organizational policies.
  5. Advocacy and Awareness:
    • Participate in community events and workshops to raise awareness of child protection issues.
    • Engage parents and caregivers through the Positive Parenting Program to promote non-violent discipline strategies and gender-equitable attitudes.
  6. Workload Management:
    • Manage a caseload of approximately 8-10 cases per month, gradually increasing as capacity grows.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in child protection case management or similar roles in humanitarian settings.
  • Familiarity with child protection protocols and systems such as RAIS/Primero is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in individual and group counseling techniques.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic; English proficiency is an advantage.

The role aligns with Outcome Statement OA5 to ensure populations of concern have access to strengthened and harmonized child protection services.
