Manager will be responsible for the continuous development and fine tuning of a strategy aimed at building a workforce, localized partnership base and the rolling out of a professionalization programme including scale up of case management systems, building a Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism reporting and response system that is defined by high quality services and case management with integrity.

The CPM contributes to achievement of results according to plans, allocation, results basedmanagement approaches and methodology (RBM) and UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks include:

  • Technical guidance on UNICEF’s integrated CPiE and CP Systems programme and results. 
  • Oversee UNICEF’s rollout of the Child Protection Information Management System and related case management protocols and tools.
  • Support in resource mobilization, proposal development and planning.
  • Program management, monitoring and delivery of results
  • Technical and operational support to program implementation through capacity support to Child Protection staff outside of Juba. Position requires monthly travel to support child protection staff outside of Juba. 
  • Networking and partnership building – ensuring strong relations with government line ministries, UN partners, key and emerging donors and support to senior management with talking points and relevant advocacy priorities as needed. 
  • Innovation, learning, knowledge management and capacity building on programming in the nexus between CP Systems and CP in Emergencies
  • Principle Officer in Charge/Deputy for the Chief of Child Protection
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s) in development studies, human rights, social sciences, law, social work or other relevant field.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience in progressive experience in emergency and non-emergency locations. 
  • Experience supervising child protection officers and specialists. 
  • Experience designing and implementing child protection programmes – both systems and emergency programmes. 
  • Experience in resource mobilization and donor relations. 
  • Strong track record in maintaining honest, strong, transparent and collaborative relations with partners – government, donors, local partners and international NGOs.
  • Proven track record in knowledge sharing and learning in respect of child protection and GBV programmes. 
  • Proven track record and knowledge of designing and implementing innovative child protection programmes. Experience in overseeing, implementing or supervising research programmes that assess impact and quality improvements in well being of children highly regarded. 
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
