Churches & Mission Engagement Officer

Encourage and facilitate churches and individuals to be involved in mission among Muslims overseas and in the UK. 

The Churches & Mission Engagement Officer will use his/her skills of networking and impactful speaking to build relationships with churches and individuals and present a clear and compelling invitation to serve in Muslim-focussed mission and deliver ReachAcross objectives. 

The post holder will serve the Church in the UK by proactively seeking to engage and mobilise churches in mission, and in particular to initiate and deepen their involvement in ReachAcross opportunities and the Church’s concern for Muslim-focussed mission.

Engaging with Enquirers/Applicants/Candidates

Follow up on Enquirers with a view to mobilising them towards mission service with ReachAcross where appropriate

Help to oversee Applicants and application processes with a view to receiving appropriate Candidates and relating to their sending/supporting churches

Help to oversee Candidates right through to Membership (Trainee Members) and posting in ‘fields’

Liaising where appropriate with membercare (guidance) for Trainee Members.

Assisting with Candidate Orientation, where appropriate, helping provide training for Candidates (both short and long term), working with them as they relate to their sending churches and supporters

Provide and/or advise on ongoing training as Continuous Professional Development for Trainee Members

Raise awareness of ReachAcross in UK

Contact “unreached” churches using appropriate means

Build relationships with churches in England, Wales and Scotland

Occasionally represent ReachAcross at Christian conferences as required – e.g., New Wine, Word Alive, Spring Harvest, Keswick, Big Church Day Out, etc.

Help with follow-up of enquirers

Seek media exposure where appropriate, e.g., occasional articles in evangelical press and the ReachAcross newsletter
