CIMMYT is looking for a dynamic, self-driven, and service-oriented professional to join the Operations Chapter as a Capacity Development Manager and oversee the CIMMYT Academy team and services. This role will lead the knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives of the CIMMYT Academy.

 

The positions will be based at CIMMYT’s headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City.

 

Specific duties:

Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring effective Knowledge-Sharing and Capacity development solutions.
Collaborate with Research programs and Regional and Country Offices to ensure that CIMMYT Academy’s programs are coordinated.
Design and implement technical solutions to effectively support research programs, ensuring the development of relevant guidelines, training materials, and learning resources.
Develop educational solutions, improving the learning curriculum, manuals, modules.
Design, deliver and monitor partner training plans.
Manage the Student Training Program, including contracting, onboarding, and offboarding processes for students, Visiting Scientists, Adjunct Scientists or Fellows.
Ensure the content and delivery of CIMMYT Academy meet CIMMYT’s quality standards to contribute to the long-term knowledge sharing and capacity development.
Document and generate regular reports detailing processes, outputs, and outcomes, based on key metrics and performance indicators.
Manage and oversee the Academy’s partnerships with universities, develop learning programs in partnership, and increase the volume and adherence of students applying to CIMMYT Academy offerings.
Develop and monitor indicators on the activities and impact of capacity development services.
Establish and manage CIMMYT Academy’s fundraising, engagement, communication and marketing strategy, seeking support and guidance from the Engagement Chapter.
Monitor budget and generate resources and funding.

Requirements

The selected candidate must have a master´s degree in Education, or related fields are preferred.
The selected candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in education, capacity development, knowledge-sharing, skills development, agricultural extension, or a related field.
English is a must and will be tested, and the candidate should score a minimum of C1 of CEFR.
The selected candidate must have strong expertise in capacity development and knowledge-sharing theories, with proven experience in applying these methodologies effectively.
The selected candidate must have experience in the organization of formal and informal training programs.
The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Critical thinking, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Problem Solving decision making, Negotiation and Conflict resolution.
