City Associate

Compensation 2.5 to 3 .5  lakh per annum; commensurate with experience. 

Spend at least 25% time in schools/classrooms + at least 25% time with teachers

Manage following operations in your area

• Conduct M&E activities, reporting and documentation
• Organise training logistics for in-person sessions
• Capture teacher experiences/stories
  

Build a motivated, collaborative teacher community

• Cultivate authentic relationships with teacher leaders/fellows
• Create a vibrant online Whatsapp community of teachers
• Ensure teacher participation in all capacity building activities (at least 80%)
• Support teacher leaders/fellows in implementing group projects
  

Support teachers to build 21st century classrooms (TLC and Neev)

• Respond to everyday classroom queries and challenges
• Observe classroom and give specific feedback (at least 50% improvement)
• Conduct coaching conversations (currently applicable for Neenv)
• Build and support implementation of parent engagement plans, PTMs
• First point of contact for child protection policy reporting
• Support in creating low cost TLMs, print rich class, lesson plans as required
  

Build stakeholder relationships

• Ensure regular communication with school stakeholders (teachers, Principals, DEO office )
• Build sustainable relationship with school staff wherever Ashvattha is operating
  

Support roles

• Support with curriculum (including library, computer) and training development
• Support with creating assessments and analysing data as required

 

Who are we looking for: Teaching experience is required

• Wants to understand teacher training and classroom practice
• Self-directed, responsible and eager to learn
• Finds joy in solving classroom teaching related challenges
• Experienced at lesson planning for different subjects
• Empathetic verbal communication (Hindi & English)
• Intuitive digital communication (WhatsApp etc)
• Basic digital, documentation and data management skills
• Primary school experience will be given preference
