give people the chance to enjoy relax amidst the bustle of the city of London, and to bring

Primarily you will be based at Bunhill Fields, you will be responsible for the overall upkeep
of this historic burial site, but can be deployed to other sites.

We are looking for a flexible, dedicated and enthusiastic candidate, who has exceptional
interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of customers. As a Keeper,
you will play a crucial role in maintaining the beauty and safety one of the country’s most
prestigious burial sites, ensuring a pleasant experience for all visitors. You’ll be a
highly-visible and reassuring presence for visitors, building relationships with regular users
and promoting/ enforcing adherence to the byelaws. With an appointment visitors can visit
graves within restricted areas who will need supervising.

You will need to carry out scheduled horticultural works such pruning, weeding and turf care as
well as an eye for detail, identifying and carrying out tasks that arise.

We’re always looking to improve our services throughout the City, so you’ll get opportunities
to take on development courses or on-the-job training to widen your skills and experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent conflict resolution and customer service
  • Be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to team working, be self-motivated and be able to
    demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative
  • Have a flexible approach to work and an eye for detail.
  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety
  • Be able to use mobile technology to work on the move
  • Experience of work in enforcement roles will be adventitious.
  • Sound horticultural experience, preferably in a busy urban parks or gardens environment and to
    a high professional standard or a strong demonstrable desire to learn these will be essential.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English is required. as well as a City & Guilds, NVQ or RHS
    certificate in horticulture and a full UK/EU driving licence.
