Apply today!What you will be doingEmployer: Alliance HealthcareShift: 48hrs = 6 days week A and 5 days week BPay Rate: £38,737.92 plus overtime at 1.33xsJob Purpose:To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled products and invoices to the customer within corporate guidelines.All staff are expected to understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (2013/C 68/01) which is reflected in our SOP – REF Chapter 1 AHDL GDP 1.1. It will be a requirement for all staff to be trained in this SOP and have an annual refresher. All other GDP training will be job specific and as per your personal training matrixKey AccountabilitiesCompetencies

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To abide by all tacho-graph laws and ensure daily/weekly rests are taken as required
• Ensure all Proof of Deliveries listed on drop sheets have been delivered to customers and report any shortages to the transport department before leaving the customer.
• Upon receipt of collection request, collect goods returned from external customers as instructed by the transport staff.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day’s work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• Ensure all trailer seal numbers are logged before departure and before opening at the service centre or external customer.
• Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
• To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• To help maintain good customer relations.
• To maintain at all times good communications with the transport staff based at the service centre.
• To be involved in other duties as may be defined from time to time by the Management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

What your background should look like

• Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven
• Existing employees must update fleet services accordingly with any changes to their license status e.g. points on their license, driving bans etc
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Customer care
• Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy
• Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
• Route planning experience

• Constant interaction with external customers
• Regular liaison with other Drivers and members of the transport team

Level of Decision Making:

• Required to act on own initiative and work unsupervised
• Required to monitor the condition of own vehicle and report and damages or faults
• Serious faults or damages may result in the Driver making the decision the vehicle is not roadworthy
