The Opportunity:
The Cleanroom Engineer is a non-licensed engineer who will specialize in the specification, installation, maintenance, and support of lithography, deposition, dry etching, and other processing tools in a centralized cleanroom fabrication environment. Centralized services include cleanrooms in the College of Optics and Photonics, the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), and the College of Sciences (COS). This position will report to the Associate Director.
Responsibilities:

Review and plan local maintenance of cleanroom tools.

Conduct technical research, coordinate and schedule with manufacturers and vendors for major repairs.

Interact with and report to the cleanroom manager and faculty committee for the smooth daily operation of the cleanroom.

Participate in the cleanroom expansion planning and installation.

Test and perform reviews of proposed new equipment.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:

A degree from an accredited university in the fields of electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, optics and photonics, physics, or other closely related disciplines.

Experience in studying or working in a cleanroom facility for microelectronic or photonic devices and circuit fabrication.

Hands-on experience with repairing cleanroom tools is preferred.
