Under the supervision of the clearance site supervisor, the SHO Clearance Team Leader is responsible for managing of Deminers and a Medic at a clearance site. The Team Leader will manage daily searching and tagging activities at the site, and be responsible for all team equipment and any additional equipment issued to the team. In addition, the clearance team leader intervenes whenever it is necessary in order to performing problem solving for these issues is within the team leader’s authority.
- Performing Day-to-day clearance team management activities in order to delegate tasks to the team and to make sure the clearance has the necessary information to operate at the field.
- Conducting daily work briefing of the activities of the clearance team to update them and keep them motivated and in order to ensure the lowest percentage of possible security and safety risks at the field.
- Enforcing and adhering to the technical guidelines as laid down in SHO SOPs in order to ensure the lowest percentage of possible security and safety risks at the field.
- Conducting Quality assurance and Quality control activities at the concerned clearance site on a daily basis by updating the information within the site folders.
- Assuming responsibility for controlling and maintaining daily all of the equipment used by the clearance team through visual observation in order to provide the deminers the approval to start operating at the field.
- Controlling, receiving and briefing of all the visitors to an EOD clearance task/hazard area, in order to maintain at a high level their personal safety and security.
- Ensuring the appropriate authorities are informed by phone before any demolition related task is performed, in order to commit to the concerned rules and regulations.
- Making sure the medical checklists are available in the ambulance and that the medicines are available and accessible to the medic staff, and making sure that the evacuation plan is available and updated on Monthly basis in order to be constantly prepared for urgent situations. The evacuation strategy must be revised regularly if any team members change or the Hazard field changes.
- Making sure on daily basis that the team logs are up to date in order to ensure a high level of data accuracy.
- Filling the PR purchase request, get it signed by the operations’ manager. And follow up with procurement department in order to make sure the requested purchasing activities are done on time.
- Filling on weekly basis the equipment check sheet in order to make sure all the concerned equipment is well maintained and properly functioning.
- Keeping the site folder up to date on daily basis including the QA/QC sheets, Hazard, UXO spot forms, etc. in order an accurate data sharing, transfer and sampling process.
- Keeping daily clearance team attendance records in order to share it when requested.
- Supervising the vehicle technical checklist in order to make sure they are regularly, correctly filled and to make sure the vehicle is well maintained.
- Evaluating the work performance of the team as per the set deadline and policy set by the HR.
- Ensuing his/her knowledge of SHO SOP’s and RSP’s, IEDD methods and threat assessment remain current, in order to adhere to SHO policies and reduce the safety risk level.
- Ensure that the Visitor log is kept up to date prior to visitors entering the field, and that no visitor enters the field without signing the Visitor log in order to ensure that the visitor is going to the field and accepting responsibility for their visit in case an accident occurs during the visit.
- Any Other Tasks Required by Line Manager Vehicle
