The Supporting Recovery program will deliver Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) trauma-informed mental health care services within South West Sydney to support victim-survivors in their longer-term recovery.

Key elements of the service include:

  • Victim-survivors of FDSV and their families have free access for up to 2 years to evidence-based trauma informed mental health care.
  • Provision of psychological therapies and other appropriate wellbeing and social interventions.
  • Collaborations with other services to facilitate coordination of care and assist with referral pathways.
  • Community engagement activities to increase community awareness.

Purpose of the role:

To allocate client referrals to Anglicare program staff. Be the main point of contact with Local Care Team and other services for receiving referrals. Work closely with Client Allocation Officer counterpart in Catholic Care to understand client referral volumes and needs to enable appropriate allocation of referrals across Anglicare and Catholic Care teams.

This is a Permanent part-time role based at Liverpool for 3 days a week

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Ensuring that referral information is accurate by liaising with referrers and other team members to obtain the most up to date information.
  • Ensuring clients are well informed about Supporting Recovery and other relevant Anglicare services.
  • Ensuring services are trauma-informed and culturally safe and inclusive for all who present. This includes ensuring that any information sought directly from clients is requested and collected in keeping with principles of providing culturally safe and trauma informed care.
  • Preparing reports for SWSPHN – working closely with Senior Program Manager and team.
  • Work collaboratively with Local Care Team to ensure a positive experience for clients referred to the program.
  • Collaborating with Catholic Care Client Allocation Officer and other colleagues.
  • Ensuring that clients, Local Care Team, Head to Health Liverpool and other stakeholders are well informed about Supporting Recovery services.
  • Ensuring that data collection, documentation (case notes, etc) and reporting meets organisational, legislative and PHN contract requirements by completing, maintaining and communicating appropriate client documentation and statistical information.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by reviewing and implementing policies, procedures and work practices relevant to the program.
  • Keep up to date and informed by sector developments.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience needed:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma level Community Services qualification or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working in mental health, FDSV and/or CALD contexts (desirable).
  • Well-developed computer skills (MS Word, MS Outlook, client management system)
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Police check and WWCC.
  • Covid19 Vaccination highly recommended.
