About The Role
Our Home & Community services support people living with a disability who want to live independently by providing flexible living arrangements and tailoring supports to match the client’s and family/ carer’s needs. We also support people with a disability to develop skills and experience within a community environment by matching supports to individuals and providing a range of programs that enable the achievement of personal goals and outcomes. Our Work services are passionate about providing meaningful employment pathways for people with disability. Reporting to our Head of Practice, Quality and Impact, Home, Community and Work, the Client Safeguarding Manager is accountable for driving the enhancement of the Safeguarding culture across the organisation. You will lead a team focused on ensuring Safeguarding practices are prioritised to ensure our clients receive high quality services free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation and the organisation meets the expectations of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, in alignment with Endeavour Foundation’s mission, purpose and values and deliver on its strategic and operation .
Duties include:
- Provide effective leadership and a clear sense of direction to the Client Safeguarding team, demonstrating leadership competencies aligned to the leadership framework and role modelling Endeavour Foundations values and behaviours.
- Develop, implement and review the organisations Client Safeguarding Framework, policies and procedures to ensure they align with best practice, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and advice in the delivery, embedding and continuous improvement of the Client Safeguarding Framework across the organisation.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability, develop strategies to mitigate risk and ensure corrective actions and improvement activities are coordinated across the organisation.
- In collaboration with the Safeguarding team and organisational leadership, conduct investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring recommendations are developed and implemented that prevent or minimise reoccurrence.
- Monitor and analyse client safety data and trends in safeguarding incidents, identifying issues, providing insights and providing recommendations into the Practice Framework continuous improvement activities.
- Establish and manage internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, including the NDIS Commission.
- Act as the lead coordinator during critical incidents, convening the key stakeholders and ensuring that the client is at the centre of the process.
- Design and deliver training programs to staff and stakeholders to raise awareness of safeguarding issues, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to recognise, respond and report appropriately.
- Embed a client safe organisational culture informed by human rights, principles based environment that is compliant with regulations and legislation.
About You
- Ability to maintain expert knowledge of matters relating to the National Quality and Safeguarding Framework and regulatory and legislative frameworks that impact disability service providers.
- Demonstrated high level understanding of NDIS and Quality and Safeguarding Framework.
- Demonstrate understanding of Human Rights and other person-centred approaches as it applies to practice with people with a lived experience of disability.
- Experience in conducting and advising on investigations.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of client focused outcomes and the enhancement of the Safeguarding culture.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear and concise information is relayed.
- Demonstrated detailed problem-solving skills to successfully identify core issues, develop solutions and implement these using a logical and systematic approach.
- Thorough understanding of risk and the ability to consider risk holistically to the client, employee and organisation.
- Experience in leading a successful, engaged and high performing team.
- Tertiary qualification in Health, Allied Health, Social or Behavioural Science or equivalent and a Certificate IV in Investigations and Lead Investigator Training or demonstrated experience in completing investigations and assessments of complex client safety matters, is essential.
