POSITION SUMMARY:
The Client Services Assistant provides a range of intake services for clinic patients and research participants at the Byrd Institute. This position performs patient and participant registration, financial services and data entry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules new and follow-up appointments; Calls patients to coordinate visits, reschedule and relays other information;
Collects co-payments; Obtains, verifies and enters medical and insurance information, demographics and other information; Ensures compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality laws, regulations and policies.
Assists with clinical trials research by conducting participant screening, scheduling appointments, assisting with alternative testing sites, obtains  forms and consent.
Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with two years of experience in an office or administrative support position. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Testing may be required to assess competency on word processing software.
PREFERRED:
Customer service, administrative or office experience; Medical outpatient experience including scheduling and verifying insurance information
