Gloucestershire County Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and have been working hard
to reduce emissions within the council and across the county. Our team is leading the
development and delivery of projects to progress the council’s climate action plan and
ambitions to be Net Zero by 2030.

This is a new role that will provide expertise to the council on climate change and the range
of solutions available to reduce our carbon emissions, increase renewable energy generation,
improve air quality and promote biodiversity. The role will require coordinating multiple
Climate projects and working with many different teams.

You will be joining us at an exciting time, with your work being critical to progressing a wide
range of projects to deliver our climate ambitions, for a Greener Gloucestershire

About you

We are looking for a talented manager who can demonstrate the ability to successfully develop
and deliver complex projects with a strong interest in, projects aimed at addressing the causes
of climate change.

You will a have strong leadership skills, and the ability to quickly build rapport at all
levels in the council. You are a communicator, able to empathise with stakeholders, influencing
and gaining commitment, with a passion for developing and building teams. Most importantly you
will be knowledgeable about the climate crisis and can enthuse and influence others to drive
change.
