Carbon Reduction Lead. You’ll be spearheading multiple significant climate change and
environmental projects, ensuring that everything the Council does is aligned with our climate

Delivery: Strive to ensure that there is a collective and unified approach to
climate action across Cotswold District Council, by developing our network with key
organisations, decision-makers and individuals and facilitating a cross sector approach. As a
Climate Change and Carbon Reduction Lead, you will be an integral member of the team in
implementing strategic priorities, whilst being the focal point on driving initiatives aimed at
reducing the organisation’s carbon footprint and promoting carbon reduction and sustainability
across the council and district.

Expertise: In managing complex climate and environmental projects, you will
need to have both technical expertise and strong leadership qualities. You will be working at a
high specialist level and the responsibilities in the role profile reflect this. You will be
key in the planning, implementing, and overseeing climate-related projects across the
organisation, delivering through a timely and transparent process.

Team Working You will need strong interpersonal skills, collaborating and
coordinating key partners to guide cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners
to achieve project goals and contribute to the council’s overall commitment to environmental
responsibility. Your insights will shape key decisions and drive positive action; you’ll
provide a hands-on and collaborative approach to driving change.

This role is suitable for candidates who can demonstrate career progression and professional
development in a similar field. Part time job share considered- we want the best people for our
roles and we recognised that sometimes those people aren’t available full time.

You will need

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant profession.
  • Five years’ experience in the relevant field
  • Successful track record of designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on projects
    within specified time/budget, working across a variety of stakeholders and partners at all
    levels.
  • Passion for Climate Change and Sustainability, with a good knowledge of sustainability
    principles.
  • Deliver commitments and take ownership of own caseload, reshaping of plans to deliver
    required outcomes.
