– Drabzeen (Global platform) Climate Justice Inspirator
– SHIFT (Global platform) Climate Justice Inspirator
– Young small holders and young climate justice activities
– Youth led climate groups such as (Youth for Climate)

  1. VOLUNTEER TASKS
    What will be done together with the hosting organisation? 70 % of the Inspirator’s time
    Program Support and Implementation:
    •Support local partners in planning and implementing climate justice programs, ensuring alignment with AAAR’s Strategic Priorities and regional needs.
    Promote community-driven solutions, such as agroecology and other sustainable practices, that address local climate challenges.
    •Collaborate with local partners to integrate climate-resilience principles into crisis response and long-term development initiatives.

Capacity Building:

•Design and deliver capacity-building workshops and training sessions for local partners, focusing on climate justice advocacy, sustainable practices, and resilience-building strategies.
•Mentor youth and community leaders in climate justice advocacy and leadership.

Advocacy and Policy Engagement:

•Work with partners to develop and execute advocacy campaigns that amplify the voices of marginalized communities.
•Advocate for climate policies that address social and environmental justice, particularly in sectors like water, waste management, and sustainable agriculture.

Reporting and Documentation:

•Develop high-quality, timely reports on climate justice programs with partners in coordination with AAAR staff (Program Manager and Program Officer).
•Consolidate partner reports into comprehensive program updates, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with AAAR’s objectives.
•Document success stories, lessons learned, and challenges to inform program improvement and future initiatives
•Prepare briefing notes, case studies, and other knowledge products to showcase program achievements and impact.

What will be done together with other partners, groups, organisations: 20 % of the Inspirator’s time 3

Partnership Building:
•Foster collaboration with other organizations working in the climate and environmental sectors to enhance collective impact.
•Map stakeholders and explore opportunities for regional partnerships and funding.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL):

**•**Support MEAL Coordinator in reporting relevant indicators to track the progress and impact of climate justice programs.
•Support MEAL Coordinator in documenting best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to inform program improvement and knowledge sharing.

Other tasks that are common for all Inspirators 10% of the Inspirator’s time.

Operational Support:

•Support the Program Manager and Program Officer with administrative and procurement tasks related to program implementation.
•Ensure compliance with AAAR’s policies, including safeguarding, financial management, and reporting standards.

Representation and Communication
•Represent AAAR at national, regional, and global events, including COP conferences and other climate-related forums.
•Contribute to the development of communication materials, including reports, case studies, and advocacy briefs.
•Support specific learning and campaigning activities coordinated by ActionAid or the Global Platforms (GP).
•Participate in knowledge sharing networks such as the Inspirator Learning Network & the digital communities.
•Cross-country knowledge exchange initiatives.
•Personal training and development through induction courses and other training opportunities.

4. INSPIRATOR PROFILE:

Required skills and work/volunteer experiences:
Essential
•Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, Social Studies, Development Studies, or a related field

•At least 1-2 years of experience working in climate justice, sustainable development, or related fields, with a focus on program implementation and advocacy.
•Strong knowledge of climate resilience, agroecology, and sustainable development practices.
•Proven experience in capacity-building, including designing and delivering training workshops.
•Excellent understanding of advocacy and policy engagement in the context of climate justice.
•Experience working with marginalized groups, including women and youth, in a humanitarian or development context.
•Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
•Proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written). Personal qualifications
Desirable:
•Experience working in Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria or a similar regional context.
•Significant understanding of Arab Region’s (Lebanon, Jordan, Syria) humanitarian, political, and socio-economic context, including challenges affecting refugees.
•Familiarity with AAAR’s rights-based approach and Strategic Priorities.
•Strong understanding of climate justice issues and ability to connect with policymakers, organizations, and grassroots movements.
•Ability to work in dynamic and potentially challenging environments, including remote and underserved areas.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
•Strong communication and networking skills.
•Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
